Katie’s Kids Raise $836.20 for the local Salvation Army Organizations by doing crafts! December 2016!

Jack (Age 12) and Noah (Age 6) started making Bookmarks and Superhero Pictures. They sold them to friends and family for $2 each and planned to donate the money raised to the Salvation Army organizations in Huntsville and Bracebridge. The boys raised $200 in their first week, then were offered to set up a table at Muskoka Natural Food Market to sell more.

All together, the boys raised $836.20! They were able to donate $320 in Teenager Gifts to the Salvation Army in Bracebridge They also “Adopted a Family” through the Salvation Army in Huntsville. Our family that we adopted is a single mom with two boys around Jack and Noah’s ages and they live in Huntsville. We were given a huge list of food to help get them through the holidays, as well as a ‘wish list’ from each of the boys. We were fortunate that they each enjoy Star Wars, Pokemon, Lego, and Nerf (all items that we are experts on).

Although not necessary, the boys suggested to get some gifts for the mom as well, and even add in some extra snacks and foods not on the list. They searched flyers before we went out and made sure to get the best prices on everything to make our money stretch further. It helped them understand how much Christmas can cost, and really made them think about their own ‘wish lists’. Jack and Noah are very excited to have been able to do this for other families this year and want to thank everyone who helped support them!

Katie Rowe donates $413 for her Parents for Playgrounds Program to St. Marys School in Huntsville! October 2015!

St. Mary School in Huntsville lost their playground equipment during the summer of 2015 during yard renovations. Katie made a commitment to donate a portion of her income from any sale coming from a St. Marys School family or community member to the Parents for Playgrounds Program. In October 2015 Katie was happy to donate $413 to the Parents for Playground Program. This money was used directly to help build a Gaga Ball pit for the school yard. An additional $413 was also donated to a classroom at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School for the same program.

Katie Rowe from RE/MAX North Country Teams Up with Motivations Fitness to Support Hospice Huntsville by donating $1575! October 2015!

In August of 2015 Katie teamed up with Motivations Fitness to Challenge Katie to get healthy, while raising money to go to Hospice Huntsville.

Motivations Fitness donated an 8 week membership with full training program, nutrition advice, classes, and more. At the end of 8 weeks, Katie would do her Final Weigh In, and donated $50 for every pound and inch lost over this journey.

“Hospice Huntsville has been there to support many people in my family and in this community. I figured this would be a great way to help raise money and get healthy. Motivations Fitness is definitely the place where I want to start this journey as they have amazing trainers, a passion for health and fitness and the atmosphere just feels right – it’s like family there.” says Katie Rowe.

“At Motivations, we are all so inspired by Katie’s commitment to health and fitness and her pledge to raise funds for Huntsville’s amazing hospice. In doing what we do, we have come to value what a true gift good health is and we welcome this opportunity to celebrate it. Be warned, Katie! We commit to run, squat and burpee you to a ‘healthy’ donation for Huntsville Hospice and have fun doing it… We can’t wait!” say trainers Lorraine and Kym.

The Goal? $1500 (a combination of 30 pounds and/or inches)

In October of 2015, after Katie’s 8 week journey, Katie did her “Final Weigh In”. Katie lost a total of 17 pounds and 14.5 inches for a total of 31.5 pounds and inches lost!
